Many of you have been emailing me asking for updates , well here's what's happening ....
1) Our President Mr. Legere is out of the Province for the next 10 days or so attending the CUPE National Convention in Toronto.
2) Our Rep Tom Steep is soon to follow.
3) The Negotiating Committee is awaiting the Commissioners Report , but even if it's ready in the next few days we probably won't have access to it before Brother Legere and or Brother Steep return from their trip.
4) The CUPE 1251 Annual which was to be held October 30th will more than likely be pushed back due the the strong possibility of a strike.
5) Brother Legere has not called an executive meeting since July 4th , so I"m sure he will be calling one shortly after his return from Toronto, at that time we can look at alternate dates for the Annual meeting.
As you can see the Negotiating committee has their hands tied at the moment , but we are trying all we can to keep things going , if we can somehow get our hands on the Commissioners report we will move forward.
