-Dear Brother Arseneau,
On behalf of the more than 210,000 Ontario CUPE members, I am extending our collective support to the members CUPE 1251, striking for wage parity with provincial counterparts.
The issues of equal treatment and fairness for all our brothers and sisters transcend provincial boundaries. CUPE members in workplaces across our province are damaged when workers in New Brunswick suffer from injustice.
It is imperative that across the country CUPE members acknowledge that while strike action is often workers' last option, it is also workers' strongest tool fighting employers and regressive governments. Ontario CUPE members are fortified by the courage, strength, and militancy your members are demonstrating in their fight for fairness.
Again, I extend the collective support of CUPE members in Ontario to all of the members of CUPE Local 1251. Please accept the enclosed donation toward your member's efforts.
In Solidarity,
Patrick (Sid) Ryan President, CUPE Ontario
